The Engines are a quartet comprising four of Chicago's best-known and busiest improvising musicians (L to R below): trombonist Jeb Bishop, saxophonist Dave Rempis, bassist Nate McBride, and drummer Tim Daisy.

NEWS: The Engines have a forthcoming second CD, entitled Wire and Brass, recorded live at the Hungry Brain in Chicago in April 2008. Okkadisk will release the CD in the fall of 2009. Visit the Sounds page to listen to alternate tracks recorded at that performance.
The Engines will be performing a series of concerts as a weekly residency on Tuesday nights at Elastic. Watch the Schedule page for more info!
The Engines will also be helping Okkadisk celebrate their 15th anniversary with a gig at the Sugar Maple in Milwaukee, on a bill with the trio of Peter Brötzmann, Nasheet Waits, and Eric Revis. The show starts at 8 PM.
